The Elusive Singing Bone Hello Kitty

On wednesday evening, the craze on facebook was how the Hello kitties meant to be sold at 12midnight were already sold out at 11.30pm Wednesday. How was that possible? Well, people started queuing really early and the McDonalds’ staff give out vouchers for the hello kitty due to the limited number of plush toys in stock, so by the time we reached home, went down to try our luck. There was not even a slight possibility of getting the hello kitty in 3 outlets. Took this chance to take some photos of the craze that happens every 10 years when McDonalds decides to sell them. The Singing Bone Hello Kitty was the last one in the series so apologies to Eunice, looks like we cannot finish your collection. I think the staff handled the crowd really well, the queue just amazes me how can a plush toy garner so much attention? Enough attention that people are willing to sell at 50 dollars when it costs only 4.60 and probably a lot less to produce. Somethings are just beyond me. 🙂

Good morning Singapore

Good morning Singapore

Sunrise at Clementi, Singapore
This morning, when it was time for me to wake up from dreamland, I realised that our circuit breaker had tripped again with no way of flipping the affected switch up. The same thing happened a 1 month ago and we thought we had solved it. What a way to start a morning but I must that today’s sun is really beautiful and golden. Let’s look on the bright side of things, life is too short to be a worrier. YOLO. 🙂

Tulipmania at the Gardens by the bay

It was tulips galore at the flower dome, Gardens by the bay. The flower dome had 20,000 tulips imported from Holland. This was my first time to the flower dome and the cloud forest, I was amazed at the many plants and flowers from the different climate regions and wondered a lot about creation. How could there not be a creator who made all things. I appreciated the concept of the cloud forest though there weren’t many blooming flowers and all but it showed a glimpse of how it would look and feel in the forests on high mountainous regions which people seldom get to see or visit.

Go visit if you are in town or if you have the time!

Nature photography and Chinese Painting

My late mother had a hidden talent, she was really good at chinese paintings. She had only taken a year’s class in chinese painting and that was all she need to start painting nature’s wonders, the mountains, birds, fishes in our living room with intricate details and wonderful colours. I spent the last 2 years, spotting wild things in our local parks, birds, birds of prey, animals and insects. These were all very close up, subject taking more than 75% of the frame type of photos. When I look at my mother’s paintings, the environment is emphasised as much as the subject itself. I decided to take that approach towards nature photography, to capture the animal and its environment. Below is my 1st attempt.
